Privacy Policy

Draft for legal review. This page describes how Reenka works today. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.

The short version

• Reenka is a personal assistant you message on WhatsApp (and, where enabled, by SMS or a phone call).
• We use what you send only to help you: replying, remembering what you ask, reminders, tasks and — if you turn them on — briefs and suggestions.
• We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
• You can see, edit and delete what Reenka keeps in the dashboard, and delete everything at any time.

What we collect

• Your phone number and the profile name you set in WhatsApp.
• Your messages to Reenka and its replies. For phone calls (when enabled): what you say, as text from speech recognition, and Reenka's spoken replies. We don't store call audio.
• What Reenka keeps to help you: memories (facts and preferences you share), reminders, tasks and their notes, and approvals (requests for your OK — the action details are encrypted).
• Google Calendar, only if you connect it: access tokens (encrypted) and your Google account's e-mail address. Reenka reads your events when it needs them — to answer a question, write your morning brief or suggest something — and only adds an event after you approve it. Event details are not stored, except where they appear in Reenka's messages to you.
• Settings: name, time zone, language, and your morning-brief and suggestion choices.
• Dashboard sign-in: one-time login codes (stored only as a keyed hash, valid 10 minutes) and sessions (stored only as a hash).
• Usage records: how much AI processing each request used (to control costs), and a log of proactive messages so they are never repeated.
• Technical logs of requests and errors, set up to leave out message text and to mask phone numbers.

How we use it

• To understand and answer your messages, and to do what you ask.
• To remember context you've shared and find it again later.
• To send the reminders you set and — if switched on — a morning brief (off unless you turn it on), a few timely suggestions (on by default, at most 2 a day, never between 10 pm and 8 am; say "stop suggestions" any time) and a gentle nudge about something left open.
• To keep the service safe and working: preventing abuse, limiting usage and fixing problems.

We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone other than the providers below.

Who processes data for us

• Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform) delivers WhatsApp messages between you and Reenka, including login codes.
• Twilio delivers SMS and phone calls, when those channels are enabled.
• Anthropic runs the Claude AI models that read your message, relevant memories and context to write Reenka's replies, briefs and suggestions.
• Voyage AI turns memories into "embeddings" (lists of numbers) so Reenka can search them.
• Google, only if you connect Google Calendar: Google's Calendar API, within the access you granted.
• Our hosting provider runs the servers and database where your data is stored.

These providers act on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments. Some are based in, or process data in, other countries, including the United States.

Reenka's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalised AI or machine-learning models.

How we protect it

• Connections are encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
• Google tokens and approval details are additionally encrypted in our database (AES-256-GCM). Login codes and session tokens are stored only as hashes.
• Reenka asks for your explicit OK before consequential actions, and only you can give it.
• Backups stay on our server with restricted access.

How long we keep it

• We keep your data while your account exists.
• Login codes expire after 10 minutes, dashboard sessions after 30 days.
• When you delete your data it is removed from our live database straight away and Google access is revoked. Backups roll over within about two weeks.

Your choices and rights

• See and edit: the dashboard shows your reminders, tasks, approvals, memories and settings. You log in with a code sent to your WhatsApp.
• Forget something: ask Reenka to forget it, or delete it in the dashboard.
• Stop proactive messages: say "stop suggestions" or "morning brief off", or use Settings.
• Disconnect Google: in the dashboard under Connections (this also revokes Reenka's access), or at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
• Delete everything: Settings → "Delete my data" permanently deletes your account and everything linked to it. If you message Reenka again later, it starts fresh.
• Depending on where you live you may have further rights — such as access, correction, portability, objection or complaining to a data-protection authority. To use them, message Reenka on WhatsApp or use the dashboard.

Children

Reenka is not meant for anyone under 18. If you believe a child has used it, message Reenka on WhatsApp or use the dashboard and we'll delete the data.

Changes

We'll update this page when the way Reenka handles data changes, and tell you on WhatsApp about significant changes.
